On Air Fest empowers storytellers and artists reimagining what an audio artwork can be. The next application cycle will be announced shortly. The On Air Residency Program is designed to support both the creation and presentation of new work. It encourages practitioners who emphasize experimentation and showcase a unique point of view, and supports projects across poetry, narrative, sculpture, performance, ambient, interview, documentary and sonic realms yet to be explored.
The On Air Audio Residency supports audio-focused boundary-pushing works on any subject.
The Brooklyn Sound Residency supports a project inspired by Brooklyn. This special initiative spotlights place-based works that explore the culture of the city.

In 2018 we announced our commitment to support emerging audio artists and storytellers. Our inaugural On Air Residency was awarded to ‘Drill Meditations,’ an immersive sound and dance performance by Nola Hanson and Nicky S. Smith, members of the Trans Boxing Collective. As members of the trans and QTPOC communities, Nola & Nicky are deeply invested in exploring the ways in which embodied practices such as boxing, dance, and meditation, can be used to transform suffering and achieve collective liberation.
