As harp, voice, shruti box, and double bass fill the room, musicians Elsz and Nick Lenchner lead guests on a mediation, deepening the listener's personal relationship with sound, further developing their own mindfulness and abilities to self-heal.
ELSZ is a Brooklyn based queer non-binary musician, ritual (performance) artist, advocate, activist and yoga / meditation facilitator, who grew up between Sri Lanka and Australia. They sculpt hypnotic worlds with word and sound to hold space for healing and to engage conversations around gender violence, healing, queerness, ancestral trauma and decolonization.
ELSZ's work is captivating, experimental, and refined over 12 years as a producer, harpist, and artist. Their ‘Genre-Queer’ sound boasts cinematic productions coupled with soulful pop sensibilities.
Nick Lenchner is a classically trained double bassist and has studied extensively under Alexandre Tannous, an expert in the field of sound work. Together ELSZ and Nick Lenchner have toured internationally and nationally, performing ELSZ' original music at prominent venues and festivals such as Liveworks Festival-Australia, Brooklyn Museum, SIM Sao Paulo-Brazil, Chelsea Music Hall, Mercury Lounge, SXSW, Spoken Fest-India, Women of the world festival-Sri Lanka, and many more.
