Some of Keenan’s first memories are of his mother Megan singing.

During the day, she favored songs by Carole King and Patsy Cline, but at night, when she was putting Keenan to bed, Megan used to sing songs she’d written herself. These songs were always Keenan’s favorites. But for Megan, they carried an unspoken sadness, and the weight of regret. And it wasn’t until Keenan got older that he came to understand why.
