How do you bring your audience––body and soul––into the visceral experience of being an octopus? In this workshop, environmental artist Jemila MacEwan will demonstrate practical approaches to engaging your bodily senses and emotional imagination to bring audiences inside the stories you tell. Using an ecomorphic approach to inhabit the realities of fungi, mollusks, bacteria, birds, meteorites and mountains, MacEwan will reveal how an embodied approach to storytelling expands the audience's capacity to face the complex emotions brought on by planetary change. The workshop will help you build your own approach to conveying intimacy, honesty and humor through your storytelling.
