ARTIST STATEMENT:
"Synopsis: Three women in their 70s and 80s tell tales of their biggest belly laughs.
Artist note: I wanted to make a piece that found joy and delight in old age, in a way that felt relatable to younger generations. We all have those moments that stick in our memory of uncontrollable shoulder shaking, stomach hurting, eye watering, pant wetting laughter, but it's rare (in my experience) to hear those recounted by the 70+. So I set out to find these stories among elderly women I knew, asking the question 'what's been your biggest belly laugh?'. Woven through it is a laughter yoga session, something that's considered to have great benefits for the elderly."
